Careers - Information for Parents

Parents & Carers

We recognise the huge part you play in your child's decision making and career choice.  You are welcome to contact the careers team with any queries and suggestions.  Please look out for your child's copy of their action plan (given after any 1:1 careers meeting) which you may wish to use as a discussion point with them.  The Careers Adviser is available to talk to you at years 9-13 parents’ evenings and we update events on the school website.

As an Employer/Training Provider: Ralph Allen School actively promotes successful working relationships with providers of employment, training, Further Education, Higher Education and apprenticeships.  If you would like the opportunity to come in and talk to students about the courses and jobs you offer then please contact Sue Rogers (s.rogers@ralphallenschool.com)

We run an annual Informal Careers Event (ICE) in November for years 10-13, when local employers are invited to Ralph Allen to talk to students about their career.

We recommend taking a look at the following website "The Parents' Guide to" which gives useful information and explains the options for next steps at 16 and 18.
