BANES Young Chef Competition 2015

BANES  Young Chef Competition

Competition was rife between the students - some came in at lunchtime, just to check that no one had touched their ingredients. The recipes were kept closely guarded secrets for fear of being copied.

All students produced their dishes, which were tasted and marked by Mrs Clark and Mrs Rogers.  Recipes included Mushroom and  chickpea burgers with feta, tomato and ricotta pasta, quinoa, chickpea  and sweet potato tagine, burgers with sweet potatoes, coconut spice chick pea curry and  paella

The standard was excellent, but the final two  winners were Matilda Patterson with courgette, quinoa and courgett patties from Sout America and Ophelia Russell with Wong Tong broth with  dumplings and black fungi.  Benny Cave came a close second with a wonderful dish from Greece - Souvlaki

Matilda and Ophelia will go to the cook off in  next round which will be held at The City of Bath College on Wednesday 18th March.  First prize is  £150 of Love to Shop vouchers, so good luck to both students and well done everyone else for entering.
