Dance Show 2015

A record number of over 114 students – girls and boys - are taking part in the annual Ralph Allen School Dance Show on 16 and 17 April in the school hall, which is transformed into a very different space for the two nights of the show with a special green tent-effect staging.

On Wednesday 15 April from 9.30am 100 pupils from Combe Down Junior School are visiting to watch the rehearsal.

Students are performing a wide range of different dances, some of which they have choreographed themselves or worked with the dance prefects to put together.  The dance prefects include:  Molly Cross, Ciara Baker, Mollie Hall, Georgia Symonds, Emily Sargeant, Eleanor Ruck, Tilly Gratton-Peters, Hannah Wheeldon and Brooklyn Ashdown Doel.

The dance routines include tap dance, Grade 6 ballet, ensemble pieces, small groups, Year 7 Dance Up Town Funk and rhythm gymnastics.

The show is organised by Teacher of Physical Education, Mrs Jo Tanner, who said, ‘The students have worked really hard to put on a dynamic and inspiring show.  Some of the dances were performed at the Bath Forum for the Dance Umbrella on 19 March, but there are lots of dances which are being seen here for the first time.’
