U14 Girls B&NES Football Tournament 2017

Well we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather at this tournament which made it a lovely experience for all ten girls involved.

We had three games to play in our pool and we drew our first game against Wellsway with some great defending from Lily Beale. We played St Marks next and thanks to great goals by Lizzie Nobes and Elana McCabe we won 2-0. The final game against St Gregs we lost 1-0 but this still meant we were 2nd in our pool so went through to play the winners of the other pool – Hayesfield.  Some great midfield work from Jade Beeho and Lily Lowe but even though we were level throughout the game, a late goal from Hayesfield meant we lost 2-1. This still meant we went through to the 3rd/4th place play offs against Norton Hill and we came away with the Bronze medal!

A fab achievement by all the girls.  We were quite a young squad having two Year 7 players, two Year 9 players and the rest from Year 8. It is the highest placing that Ralph Allen has had in this tournament so a big thanks to the Bath City Football Foundation who coach our girls’ team and support this tournament.
