A rich and varied programme of performances were heard at the Summer Music concert last week.

The programme included performances by the Jazz Ensemble, Una Voce, solo instrumentalists and singers, the Guitar Group, Tic Tacappella choir, the orchestra and Bach to Broadway choir.  Musical numbers included Amazing Grace, Sicilienne for flute and piano, House of Gold by 21 Pilots, My Ship by Kurt Weil, Danse du Meunier by Manuel de Falla, two songs from the Lion King, Circle of Life and Hakuna Matata, The Entertainer by Scott Joplin, and both Irish and English traditional folk songs.

This year the music department will be saying goodbye to three students, Maiya, Nora and Hermione, as they leave to continue their education.  Thank you for your commitment and musicality during your time at Ralph Allen.

Thank you too to Mrs Randall, Curriculum Team Leader, and Mr Parker, Music Teacher for a wonderful evening.

A parent has emailed us with the following message:

'I just wanted to say thank you to the school for putting on such a wonderful summer concert.

'The atmosphere was filled with all the things that the school and we the governing body value. Teamwork, personal best, respect, and on top of that fun and enjoyment.

'The program that was handed out to parents was really nicely designed with lovely information on the front which brought something even more special to it.There were drinks and strawberries in the interval.

'And most of all the students and their musical endeavours were really impressive and a pleasure to hear and watch.

'Thank you to Karen Randall and Danny Parker for all the time energy and input that help to make it such a special evening.'
