Year 8 Geography Trip to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door

On Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th July the Year 8 geographers went to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door for their annual fieldwork trip. Over 140 students took part over the two days. We were lucky to have Mr Rose join us to lead one of the groups and lots of other members of staff supporting the days – thanks to all!

The students walked over to Durdle Door to learn about the processes that have formed this amazing arch and drew sketches of the arch from the cliff top. They then had a paddle on the beach and returned to Lulworth Cove for lunch.

The afternoon was spent in Lulworth Cove looking at the coastal features of Stair Hole and the chalk cliffs at the back of the cove.

Ursula Franks won the stone tower and photo competition with her great rock tower in front of Durdle Door.

Thanks must go to the students and staff who were all brilliant on this trip!
