Another outstandingly successful year for A level results!

Stop press:  The school is delighted to be included in The Times' list of top UK schools for A-level results this morning, Fri 18 August.  Ralph Allen is No. 264.

We are also delighted that our A*-A percentage of 28% is above the national average of 26.3%.

The hard work of students and staff has culminated in another outstandingly successful year at Ralph Allen. 28% of the grades were A*-A.  61% of grades achieved were A*-B.  85% of the grades were A*-C across the board.

Students have done exceptionally well in all areas where exams were taken: English Language, English Literature, Drama, Computer science, PE, Psychology, Photography, Geography, Mathematics, Biology and many others.

Head of School John Chantry congratulated all students: ‘For me the effort, dedication and resilience shown by students is inspiring. To see anyone strive for their own personal best is fantastic. At Ralph Allen we strive to create the best environment for the students to achieve their personal best. It is also important to recognise the contribution of parents, teachers and everyone who supported the students over the last two years.

‘Teamwork is essential in helping students achieve their dreams; teachers have their part to play but without the support of those at home and outside of school, these grades would not have been achieved. Whether this support is with revision, encouragement in more challenging moments, or just the reassurance of a smile and a cup of tea.

‘I would like to wish everyone the very best for their life, work and education where they will use not only their well-earned qualifications but the strength of character and personal qualities they have developed throughout their time at Ralph Allen to embrace the exciting opportunities that lie ahead of them.’

As always we have a number of students continuing to university. Melissa Rose achieved 4A*s and has secured her place at Trinity College Oxford to read Biochemistry.  J.P. Laduguie achieved 4A*s and has secured his place to read Computer science at Peterhouse College, Cambridge.  Lizzie Maggs will be reading French at Oxford University, having secured 3 As.

A number of students have also attained a number of the highest grade at A-level. They are:

Katie Briggs, Gracie Helps, Tilda Teale, Becca Tucker, Brooklyn Ashdown-Doel, Cicely Frears, Ieuan George, Grace Fountain, Maisie Kemp, Lola Scalway, Ceri Shearn, Flossie Ure, Rosie Walker, Tara Rose, Finley Warman and Ruby Wood.

We would like to mention a few other students who achieved their personal best through effort and dedication. These are;

Oskar Steadman – for sheer resilience and hard work during his time at Ralph Allen.

Abi Brewer, Holly Pietersen, Will Mayo, Jordan Harding, Ben Richards, Ellie Thorne and Imogen Selley for achieving through hard work and a constantly great attitude.

Max Workman for excellent results and an A* in Design & Technology. Max has worked on his projects tirelessly and always has a positive attitude to all that he does. He is now going to Loughborough University.

Sam Clay performed well across the board but particularly in Mathematics.

Jasper Law joined us from another school and has travelled some distance each day to attend. He has worked particularly hard this year and his work has paid off with some excellent results.

Eden Richardson is one of our elite athletes.  Despite a very busy schedule she has achieved ABB and is going to university in America. Fantastic!

Finally a huge well done to all students and staff for all their hard work!
