Students from the school's tennis teams visit ATP World Tour Tennis Finals

Eight lucky students from the school's tennis teams visited The O2 Arena in London to watch the ATP World Tour Tennis Finals this week.

Following a busy summer schedule of tennis fixtures, players in Years 8, 9 and 10 from the school's tennis teams got the fantastic opportunity to visit the O2 Arena in London to attend the ATP World Tour Tennis Finals.

The day started with a exclusive visit to the' VIP Lounge' to collect our tickets.

After clearing security and taking a brief tour of the arena we took our seats high up in the top tier where we got to see the worlds 2nd and 3rd ranked mens doubles teams play in a really closely fought match.

A 7-6, 7-6 win to Henri Kontinen/John Peers who beat Jean-Julien Rojer/Horia Tecau.

We then got to watch Wimbledon runner up Marin Cilic, ranked 5th in the world, take on Jack Sock, ranked 8th who won the Paris Masters title to qualify.

A 7-5, 2-6, 6-7 surprise win for Sock, a young player with an aggressive whipping forehand that looked and sounded fantastic live.

A quick visit to the 'Fan Zone' with the chance to get our photo taken with the actual singles trophy brought our trip to an end.

Thanks to Mr Hancock and Mr Alford for organising and running the trip.
