Year 8 Geography Trip to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Dorset

This week our Year 8 Geographers enjoyed a very sunny visit to the Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door area on the Dorset coastline.

This area of Britain offers some of the best coastal features and landforms in the country and was an excellent opportunity for our students to extend their classroom experience. The final module studied in year 8 is entitled ‘Coasts’ and this fieldwork has enabled students to gain first-hand experience of a range of coastal landforms.

There were opportunities for students to develop their map reading, field sketching and note taking skills. Students recorded what landforms are like and explain the processes which have led to their formation. A great day out for everyone!
