Learning Mentors

Starting salary £12,859 within Grade 3 points 5-6

Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:15pm (30 hours per week), term time only.  Factor 44.

Fixed Term until 31 August 2021

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Mentor/Teaching Assistant to join our school working alongside a highly skilled Additional Educational Needs team.

Ideally (but not essentially) you will have previous experience working with children, young people or adults with specific additional learning needs.

Your role will involve working closely with class teachers to ensure students are able to fully participate in the mainstream classroom curriculum.  You will be required to assist with school break and/or lunchtime duties.

Full training will be given.

Food & Textiles Technician & Lunchtime Assistant

2 days per week, Term time only - 12 hours 9:00am-3.30pm Thursday and Friday including half an hour lunch break unpaid. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our support team at Ralph Allen in this dual role. 

Working as a Food Technology & Textiles Technician within the Design & Technology Department, duties will include preparing materials and equipment for all lessons and providing technical and general assistance to teachers and pupils.  Experience of working in a school environment; food technology/textiles environment would be an advantage.

This role also includes lunchtime assistant duties.  Lunchtime is a really important part of the day so we want to appoint somebody who is keen to make a difference to a child’s experience at school. 

You should enjoy working with children and understand how to provide for their needs in a positive and caring manner. 

Reliability, flexibility and confidentiality are crucial qualities required for this dual position.

Full training will be given.

Working a total of 12 hours per week over 2 days.  5 hours per day will be worked as Food & Textiles Technician (£9.74 per hour) and 1 hour per day as Lunchtime Assistant (£9.36 per hour).
