Ralph Allen were one of the lucky few schools to be successful in the Lawn Tennis Association's schools ballot for tickets to attend this year's Wimbledon Grand Slam Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London.

Eight lucky students from the school's tennis teams got the unique opportunity to visit the event on Day 3 of the Championships, with show court tickets for Court No.2 where they got to see matches from the second round of the gentlemen's and ladies' singles competitions.

Students spent time at the practice courts watching Casper Ruud and Petra Kvitova warm up on the grass, even being given some balls by the players to take away and keep.

The Services Personnel on Court No.1 gave our students special access to go into the arena, take in the atmosphere and snap some photos.

The world's largest tennis racket was discovered during a stroll through the Court No.1 shop.

The best highlight of the day was being able to sit so close and watch the exceptional tennis being played by the professional players. Being able to see the unbelievable power, precision and finesse was breath taking.

Students got to see Ugo Humbert (FRA) defeat this years French Open finalist Casper Ruud (NOR) in 4 sets, followed by Greet Minnen (BEL) defeating Garbine Muguruza (ESP) and then Angelique Kerber (GER) defeating Magda Linette (POL).

Our day ended with strawberries and cream and sitting on The Hill to see the beginning of Andy Murray's match with John Isner (USA) on Centre Court.

An inspiring and unforgettable experience.
