Dear Parent/Carers,

We are delighted to let you know that the much-loved Bath Beat is back for 2026 and will take place on Saturday 25 April 2026.

Bath Beat is a fantastic community walking and running event that welcomes around 400 participants each year to take on one of four beautiful routes around Bath and the surrounding countryside: 12.5, 17, 21, or 26.5 miles. The routes start and finish at Ralph Allen School and include checkpoints along the way with homemade cakes, sandwiches and refreshments. All routes follow public footpaths, historic canal paths and farmland, offering stunning scenic views of the southerly edge of the Cotswolds. Full details of the Bath Beat can be found on the website here.

We are offering our school community first access to book places, as this event is extremely popular and sells out quickly. We would hate for you to miss out.

Pricing:

• 12.5 mile route: £25 per person

• 17, 21 and 26.5 mile routes: £34 per person

Entry includes:

• Full route support and checkpoints

• Refreshments and water on each manned checkpoint

• Recovery service if you are unable to finish

• Medal on completion

• Plenty of food and drink at the finish

Bath Beat is also an essential fundraiser for our school. 100% of the funds raised go directly towards school improvements.
Last year we raised over £9,500, which enabled us to refurbish the Drama Studio – a much-needed and hugely beneficial project. This year, funds raised will go towards the refurbishment of the school hall.

We hope to have as many students, parents and families involved as possible. It really is a fantastic day out and a wonderful way to support our school.

Volunteers Needed

The Bath Beat simply would not be possible without our amazing volunteers. We are looking for help in many areas, including:

• On the day of the event (for a few hours or the whole day)

• The day before the event with set-up and preparation

• Cake bakers and sandwich makers

• Helping at checkpoints and along the routes

• Car parking support

• Walking the routes in advance to help test and check them

If you can help in any capacity at all, we would be incredibly grateful. Every bit of support makes a huge difference and helps ensure this event continues to be such a success.
