Tree planting of 18 trees, Saturday, February 26Hi J 10.30 am - 1 pm
In partnership with the Forest of Avon Trust and B&NES, Ralph Allen School has received funding for 17 trees. Three Cherry trees will be planted by the Lee Centre in a proposed new seating area for students. Fourteen more trees, including Birch, Amelanchier, Field Maple and Prunus trees will be planted in an open area near the music room and playing field.
In addition to this the school have been gifted another tree, as part of a lovely idea which is called the Queen’s Green Canopy, a project in recognition of Her Majesty’s platinum jubilee next year. Our Queen’s Green Canopy Tree will be planted at the school entrance. Along with this special additional tree we would also like to bury a time capsule, the contents of which will be decided by the students. More details to follow.
This initiative is part of B&NES pledge to mitigate our climate and ecological emergency by providing more green cover across the region. With student and parent involvement we will be making our own pledge of support.
To make this possible we need parents, students and anyone from the Ralph Allen School community who would like to be involved to come along and help plant the trees. We will be planting them on Saturday February 26 between 10.30 am - 1pm. Please use the link below to register your interest in joining us to plant these amazing trees and be involved with this special event.
Details may change as the time comes closer so if you register we will be able to keep you up to date.
Looking forward to it and meeting members of the school community to help make this happen!
