On Monday 25 March we took 102 students to the forum to take part in the annual Dance Umbrella. We performed two dances, one involved 40 Key Stage 3 students and the second dance was made of 40 Key Stage 4 and 5 students. Our students led the finale and demonstrated their resilience and energy as they had to dance on the spot for a continuous 20 minutes! Our fantastic dance prefects have been amazing, teaching them the dances, helping with costumes and being fantastic role models to the younger students. All performed amazingly on the night and were a credit to Ralph Allen School. They had all been practicing hard, filling the gym at breaktimes and after school on Mondays and Tuesdays and whenever possible , their hard work paid off. Hopefully they will all have wonderful memories of performing and being part of the dance club.

A special mention also goes to our 22 Backstage Crew students who helped by chaperoning primary students to the stage, selling programmes and merchandise, they all worked very hard behind the scenes to make the evening a success.

Year 10 Prefects: Tremaine, Will, Edie, Berfin Year 11 Prefects: Chloe , Lily, Iris, Eryn, Nell, Beth (music editor)Year 12 Prefects: Carys, Katie, Olivia, Izzy, Sophie, Alexa, Libby: Year 13 Prefects: Martha, Megan and Annie.

A massive well done to all those involved in performing front and back stage and to the members of staff who have supported the event by either allowing students out for rehearsals and to those who accompanied the students on the night. Thank you to Laura Morrison, Naomi Wallbaum and Trish Hargraves in finance/PE for helping with t-shirts, tickets and general enquiries and for the catering team for helping sort food.

Special mention goes to Mrs Wallbaum, Miss Hunt, Mr Tremblen, Mr Handley, Miss Rhymer, Mr Davis, Mr Hughes, Miss Bignell, Miss Prinsloo, Dr Holland who were involved in containing the excitement of 102 of our students on the night. We even had two ex Ralph Allen students helping Olivia Nightingale and Emma Parnell. Many thanks to all the parents and guardians who have encouraged their young person to take part front and backstage and help sort their costumes.

A true Ralph Allen effort, thank you!
