Girls Rugby

Bath Rugby Foundation have been into lessons this term to work with Yr 8 & Yr9 students. On the back of this they hosted a Touch Tournament for U14’s at Trowbridge Rugby Club. We took 16 keen yr7/8/9 students which meant that every game we switched our team at half time so that they all experienced as much rugby as possible. They got more and more confident as the tournament went on with our last game being our best game, beating Hayesfield to take 3rd place overall.

Well done to all the girls, who for most have only started rugby with us in school this year. Big shout out to our yr 9 students; Eloise, Liv and Maia who were great role models to the younger students. Player of the tournament for me went to Maia who not only scored lots of tries with her speed and agility, but also was great at tagging in defence.

Well done girls - I hope lots of you will attend the girls rugby club at school in term 5, starting on Monday 29 April and running every Monday for that term. If it’s popular it could run into term 6 as well.
